Selecting Your Logo

What is a logo?

Simply put, a logo is a name, symbol or trademark for your veterinary practice, hospital or organization. Logos can be made up of:

  1. Text that is configured in a unique way
  2. An illustration that incorporates your company's name
  3. A symbol

Whether your logo is made up of one of these elements or a combination of them, its goal is always to project your identity.

Why should you use a logo?

An image is more readily processed by the mind and has greater impact than words alone. A memorable image is the simplest and most direct way to promote the unique identity of your practice.

Logos give brand name recognition and add visual appeal to signs, documents, business cards, stationary and your website. Because your logo is a unique graphic image, your visitors' eyes are naturally drawn to it.

Your logo design should be simple.

It is best to keep your logo design simple. More complicated logos are not remembered and are difficult for clients to visualize. A simple logo is easy to resize and recolor if it is needed for other design requirements. You need to imagine your logo in various design settings.

Your logo should be unique and recognizable.

When people see your logo, they should associate it with your veterinary practice. A simple, unique logo is one of the most effective ways to create brand name recognition.
